Wildfire perimeters for the US (NIFC) and Canada (CWFIS), satellite fire hotspots over the last 24 hours or 7 days (NASA FIRMS), smoke plumes (NOAA HMS), current and next-day air quality (EPA AirNow), red flag and storm warnings (NWS), fire weather outlooks (NOAA/NWS SPC), drought (U.S. Drought Monitor), river gauges (NWS), mountain snowpack (USDA SNOTEL), live radar, satellite, and snow depth.
Where does the data come from?
All public government sources: NIFC and Natural Resources Canada for fire perimeters, NASA FIRMS for satellite hotspots, NOAA and the National Weather Service for smoke and warnings, and EPA AirNow for air quality. The data is not edited or verified here, and it can lag, drop, or be wrong at any time. Field Risk Systems is not affiliated with any government agency.
Is it free?
Yes, free, no account needed. The map uses the same live conditions layer that runs inside Field Risk OS, the software Field Risk Systems builds for camps and outdoor programs.
Can I rely on it to keep me safe?
